Cristiano Arcelli
Cristiano Arcelli was born in Perugia on May 12th 1976. He began playing with the Corciano musical band, to then enroll at Perugia’s Francesco Morlacchi Conservatory, where he later obtained his diploma in saxophone under the guidance of M. Alfredo Santoloci. While jazz and improvisation music were an element of his music since the beginning, they playing with Gabriele Mirabassi and with the participation to the courses at Siena Jazz. In 2000 and 2002, Cristiano wins the Barga Jazz competition in the group section and is a finalist at the European Jazz Contest in Bruxelles.
Outside of Italy, Cristiano has performed in many other countries, including France, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Slovakia, Portugal and China.
He has also played with numerous other musicians, including Battista Lena, Gabriele Mirabassi, Stefano Battaglia, Pietro Tonolo, Riccardo Zegna, John Betsch, Luciano Titi, Tony Mann, Roberto Gatto,
Enzo Pietropaoli, Enrico Rava, Giampaolo Casati, Pietro Leveratto, Alfred Kramer, Aldo Zunino, Marcello Di Leonardo. He works on a regular basis as composer/musician with the film director Maurizio Schmidt, and with coreographer Elisa Zucchetti.
